LYRA IMMERSION w/ Megan Mallouk
Want to spice up your skill level and round out your Lyra knowledge? In this immersive workshop we’ll introduce you to a smorgasbord of Lyra treats! We will work on one-off skills and sequencing, dynamic movement, above the bar exploration, and spin technique. This workshop is meant for the intermediate to advanced level student with the stamina (and callouses!) to get a lot of information in a packed weekend.

WHEN: Nov. 5-6

Sat. 12:30 – 3:30 pm & 4 – 6:30 pm

Sun. 10 am – 1 pm & 1:30 – 4 pm

WHERE: Trapezium

PREREQUISITES: Students with a regular Lyra practice who are comfortable cleanly inverting multiple times, are able to move about the hoop with a single hand grip, and can safely execute moving through front and back balances without assistance. 16 & up or permission of instructor

STRAPS IMMERSION w/ Sebastian Rojas
A multi-day straps extravaganza! Join us for a deep dive into technique, sequences and tricks. Students will work on long-term skills such as switches, one-arm inversions, dynamic swinging skills, & roll-ups, including learning how to train and progress towards them effectively & safely. We’ll also have fun with some Sebastian-original straps choreography and movement quality. Come in ready to train hard, take notes, & explore another side of aerial straps.

PREREQUISITES: Students should be able to invert consecutively unassisted, spin on 2 or 1 arm, & have regular practice with straps or similar aerial experience. No active shoulder injuries. 16 & up or permission of instructor

HAND BALANCING IMMERSION w/ Fleeky Flanko
Join Fleeky in in-depth Intermediate Handstand Workshop. During this time we will find out where you are with your inversions, what your goals are for your practice, and how you can go push your handstands to the next level. You will come out of this workshop with new tools for training, and hopefully a new perspective on handstands, too. This workshop will partner with the “Creative Hand Balancing” workshop scheduled for January, which will address creative and performative aspects of the hand balancing form.

PREREQUISITES: Students should be well into their handstand journey, with training for at least 1 year. You must be able to kick into and hold a 30 sec to 1 min handstand (any shape), and be able to do at least one type of press handstand entry (split, straddle, tuck, pike). 16 & up or permission of instructor.

VERTICAL DANCE w/ Nimble Arts
A unique workshop where we dance on the walls and change the rules of gravity! Using harnesses and rope tools from rock climbers and arborists, you’ll learn the grace and weightlessness available when we turn the world on its side. This workshop is excellent for any movers curious to dance and tumble with a weightlessness that allows for softer impacts and a more gentle way of flipping and flying.

PREREQUISITES: None! Saddles, Ropes, Helmets, Safety Glasses, ascending/descending options will all be provided by Renaissance Acres Tree Care. Additional aerial dance style harnesses will be provided by Nimble Arts. You may bring whatever harnesses or gear you have (please mark it carefully for identification so we know it is yours) and it must pass inspection prior to use. 16 & up or permission of instructor.

RUSSIAN BAR IMMERSION w/ Jon Roitman
Launching and flying are some of the most spectacular pairings in circus physicality, resulting in beautiful collaborations in flight and landing. In this "first time at NECCA" workshop, participants will be given the chance to learn the basic principles of Russian Bar. Flyers will work on skills such as standing on the bar, jumping, and (based on participants experience), learning to flip, and bases will learn the art of partner support and launching. If you are interested, learn both positions! We'll have safety lines and lots of mats, plus expert instruction - just bring your willingness to try. Bases and flyers are welcome. You will indicate after you register which position you are interested in learning based on experience and body type.
Russian bar oriented drills and exercises will also be offered in disciplines such as trampoline, partner acrobatics, and strengthening.

Sat. & Sun. 9 am – 12 pm & 1 – 3:30 pm

WHERE: Trapezium

PREREQUISITES: Bases and flyers are welcome. 16 & up or permission of instructor
Bases
* Be able to hold a 30 second hollow body position lying on your back with feet and shoulders off the ground
* Be able to base a 2 high with someone close to your own size
Flyers
* Be able to do a clean back tuck on trampoline
* Be able to comfortably fly a 2 high with the base walking forwards and backwards
