Tini Tinou Festival 2020 - Circus Events - CircusTalk
We are pleased to invite you to the Tini Tinou International Circus Festival 2020 in Battambang, the city of arts of Cambodia. The theme of the 11th edition will be "East meets West" and we want to unite actors and troupes from Asian countries with those from other regions of the world.

The festival is from 25th to 31st May 2020, leading with a week of artistic collaboration workshops, panel discussions, street parade and ending with three days of shows and performances. This year the festival will be complemented by the annual meetings and workshops of Circus Asia Network, also being held during the festival week.

With a large focus on troupes from Asia, it is an opportunity to interact, share and collaborate with artists from a diverse region to create a stronger identity of contemporary Asian circus. At the same time, meeting with artists from the “west” with a rich history of contemporary circus will provide for opportunities for new ideas and build new friendships.

The Tini Tinou festival is unique in that it is organized and hosted by Phare Ponleu Selpak, a non-profit arts school with the mission of transforming lives and bringing about social change through artistic education. You will have opportunities to impact the lives of children and youth who don’t have many opportunities.

We would love you to join us to delight audiences and most importantly to engage the local community, inspire young people and promote the arts among the Cambodian society, bringing unity and understanding of shared values. Please see the attached flyer for an overview.

Phare Ponleu Selpak activities for transforming lives through arts are run on donations and institutional givings. The festival is being arranged through grants and sponsorships. If you have any access to mobility funding, which could be used to bring artists, and need support with the processes, please don’t hesitate to contact us at [email protected]

Please, feel free to share with your circus friends.
