Catch and Release on Rope & Fabric with Teo Spencer

WHEN: Sept 18-19, 2021
Sat 12 - 3 pm & 4 - 6:30 pm; Sun 10 am - 1 pm & 2 - 4:30 pm

Tackling release moves on rope and fabric can be daunting. Knowing how to fall on a mat is essential. Using momentum and good body mechanics rather than force makes release movements fun. We'll give you the tools to confidently train these skills on your own and the information you need to begin catching consistently and comfortably. We'll have a FOAM PIT! and a pit mat to make it all a little easier, so bring your brave self and see what you can accomplish. When you need a break from release material we'll roll through a catalogue of movements that Teo has created in collaboration with other artists and finds inspiring.

PREREQUISITES: Minimum experience includes having clean, straight arm beats on rope or fabric, being physically ready to land on a mat, on your back from five feet and being ready to rock and roll. 18 & up (or permission of instructor)

COST: $350 ($325 early bird discount before Aug 27)

Circus Story Telling with Stephanie Abrams

WHEN: Oct 23-24
Sat 12-6 pm & Sun 10 am - 4 pm

Find the layers of expression and storytelling that elevates your circus performance into something unforgettable. Participants will explore mime and physical theatre and apply those techniques directly into their skill work in their chosen focus discipline.

PREREQUISITES: Students should be working at a high intermediate or advanced level in their focus area discipline. You must be proficient in your focus discipline - capable of warming up, training on your own and performing 4-5 min of material in sequence a few times a day. It doesn't have to be complicated with crazy skills - just something with a series of sequences that you can run a few times in the workshop. Please indicate when you register what discipline you'd like to focus on in the workshop. 18 & up (or permission of instructor)
