'Dreams of the Small Gods'

'Dreams of the Small Gods' is an solo show created and performed by Zinnia Oberski.
The performance tells the story of the awakening of First Woman. Naked, unaware and unselfconscious, she explores her surroundings, still more animal than human. As she becomes more aware, her developing consciousness draws the attention of a creature from the spirit world, a primal deity who sparks her curiosity and compels her to transform. First Woman changes her physicality, drawing power form the merging of animal, human and spirit self.

Inspired by the timeless wisdom of faerie-tales, classic mythology and ancient ritual, Dreams of the Small Gods blends aerial circus, masked ritual and performance art to create a world which is as hypnotic as it is surreal, questioning human ideas of holiness and profanity and exploring the ever-changing relationship between animals, humans and those we name as our gods.

'Dreams of the Small Gods' will perform at Edinburgh Fringe 2021 as part of the Made in Scotland showcase, and is subsequently available for tour bookings.
