Adelaide Fringe Review 2017: SLUMBER

Circus. Dance. Blood

“Slumber” isn’t your typical circus show. Yes, it features some incredible tricks, but what makes it stand out as something different is the storyline. It’s the story of six girls who go out partying at a nightclub and only one survives. One of the besties starts feeling underappreciated and decides she might as well kill her friends.

“Slumber” follows a breathtaking girl squad of elite circus performers and dancers on the last night of their lives. The hip hop dance routines are incredible and go well with the party music of the show. There is a small amount of audience participation. Be prepared because someone needs to dispose of a body – it is not your typical circus.

The pole circus routine is incredible to watch, the ending where he shoots to the bottom of the pole with speed headfirst has to be seen to be believed. Too bad he doesn’t make it to the next scene.

Starring Lee Hubilla, Joren Dawson, Bokyung Park, Lisa Sainvil, Elli Huber, and Samantha Smith, this show is circus meets dance with a little bit of slasher thrown in and a lot of fake blood. The ending of the show changes depending on the audience’s decisions – so what will you decide?

A must see show, playing at The Royal Croquet Club: Panama Club until March 19th.
