Mirjam Hildbrand is a PhD candidate at the Institute of Theatre Studies at the University of Bern. She studied Dramaturgy and Performance Studies in Leipzig and Hildesheim and in her research project funded by the Swiss National Science Foundation she explores the tense relationship between circus and bourgeois theater in Berlin between 1869 and 1918. In the field of contemporary circus she works as a programmer and dramaturge in Germany and Switzerland.
