Hideaway Circus: We are looking for circus artists to take part in our upcoming 2021 circus creation. We encourage highly skilled performers of all ages, backgrounds, and disciplines to please submit to the form below. Artists must be available for 4 weeks of rehearsals in Vermont starting in August of 2021, followed by 8 weeks of touring the North East region of the United States, concluding in New York City. The production will feature a combination of contemporary and classically styled acts, and we are seeking performers who are comfortable and interested in both approaches. Various cast members will also be asked to sing, play instruments, and join in with the band during particular scenes in the show.
Due to international travel restrictions and pandemic conditions, we have particular preference for artists with US citizenship or valid work visas. The following act types we are generally interested in: Bicycle, Cloud Swing, Cyr Wheel, Dog Acts, German Wheel, Hair Hanging, Hand-to-Hand, Iron Jaw, Juggling (all types), Jump Rope, Risley, Sky Walk, Slack-Wire, Swinging Trapeze, Tight-Wire, Tumbling Acrobatics, Unicycle. If you did not see your discipline listed, please still apply as we are open to modifying roles for the right artist.
Select applicants may be asked to participate in a video interview and/or submit additional material and references upon request. All information sent to us is for internal use only, and all records will be kept private. Casting submissions will be accepted through the end of January 2021, and applicants will be notified of their status in February. Some applicants who do not fit this particular production will still be considered for other shows currently in development.

Their original theatrical productions include the two-time Drama Desk nominated dance show Beyond Babel, a ‘Critics Pick’ of the The New York Times described as “astonishing and irresistible”; and the genre-defying slasher circus show SLUMBER described by Time Out NY as “contemporary, sexy and a little bit dangerous.” Josh and Lyndsay also host the popular and award-nominated Hideaway Circus Podcast featuring industry news analysis and interviews with creators in the circus, dance, and theater arts. In 2018, the company created a series of circus and dance experiences designed specifically to be watched in a virtual reality headset.
