Circus Stays Open Despite Families Being Evacuated from New South Wales Coastal Towns as Out-of-Control Bushfires Rage On

A travelling circus has remained open using a generator in a coastal town which has been ravaged by bushfires.

Residents and holidaymakers fleeing the New South Wales south coast via the Princes Highway drove past caged lions from Stardust Circus as they passed through Ulladulla.

Others took the opportunity to visit the show, which was able to continue with the use of generators while most of the south coast were experiencing power outages.

Jed Stockton, 33, and Kellie Ross, 37, were among thousands in crawling Ulladulla traffic on Thursday, passing through on their way home to Wagga Wagga from Batemans Bay.

Having already spent several hours on the road on Thursday morning, Mr Stockton and Ms Ross said they were prepared for a long day and had gas for cooking, a full tank of petrol and water…
