Fédération Mondiale du Cirque Announces the 12th World Circus Day

The Fédération Mondiale du Cirque has recently announced the 12th World Circus Day, to be held on Saturday, April 16th, 2022.  The Federation is expecting participants from over 50 countries.

In a statement last week, Fédération President Urs Pilz and Executive Director Zsuzsanna Mata announced:

“The Fédération Mondiale du Cirque, under the Honorary Presidency of H.S.H. Princess Stéphanie, initiated the celebration of World Circus Day right after the organization was founded. The world-wide circus community has recognized the third Saturday of each April as the international day of circus arts. It is the most important common feast of the global circus community.

World Circus Day has become already an important tradition, and its 12th edition is celebrated under very special circumstances.

In 2022, World Circus Day is now needed more than ever. It is an opportunity to express our faith in peace, solidarity, collaboration, and unity. It is an opportunity to show the world that together we are stronger.

Celebrating together demonstrates the unique character of the circus. The festive mood and the exceptional programs bring together artists, professionals, fans, and the circus-loving audience. It is an opportunity to show that circus arts have no borders, no barriers of any kind; that the “language” we use unifies us. Acting together is an inexhaustible source of energy, hope, and force.

On this occasion, the Federation is open to collaborating with all partners, regardless of whether they are our members or not. We appreciate the work and activities of everybody who has collaborated with us in the past. We hope to greet many more new partners, and to hear about many more inspiring events.”

Artists and organization who are interested in participating this event are invited to register on the Federation’s website.

.In 2021, close to 50 organizations participated.
