The Australian Circus Influence via Antonella Casella of Circus Oz

Antonella Casella’s influence on Australian circus reads like a fascinating historical primer on this contemporary art form. Whatever company she has been involved with has gone on to do groundbreaking work in the contemporary circus world. Casella’s focus has been firmly rooted in socio-political concerns which harkens back to her early work with a beloved influencer in social circus, Reg Bolton. Now a senior artistic associate director at Circus Oz, Antonella spoke with Circus Talk about her history with Rock’n’Roll Circus, Circa, Vulcana Women’s Circus and of course her current work with Circus Oz and the show Model Citizen.
