Laszlo Simet, High-Wire Walker, Wheel of Death, Motorbike on the Wire and Semaphore Artist

2018 may mark 250 years of circus but there is another significant milestone to note. Veteran multi-award-winning Hungarian high-wire artist Laszlo (Laci) Simet is celebrating 40 years in the circus. Born into a circus family in Budapest – both his parents, Laszlo Snr and Magda, having been high-wire walkers as well – his first professional show was in 1978. He has since worked in prestigious circuses and venues – both indoors and outdoors – all over the world. His finale of walking down the sloping support wire with another artist standing on his shoulders is a heart-stopping thing of beauty. He also appears on Wheel of Death, on a motorbike on the high wire, and, additionally, performs skywalks, always without a safety lunge…
