Meet future ESAC graduate Julia Tesson! Tesson was born into a circus family in France where she followed her mother on tour and started practicing circus at a very young age. After high school, Tesson went on to attend  Centre des Arts du Cirque Balthazar in Montpellier (FR), where she specialized in trapeze and acrobatics. Tesson then decided to audition for ESAC in Brussels with Cyr wheel, “When I heard that I (got in) I was so happy that I cried! I even thought there must have been a mistake with the names, as there was another Julia in the audition– it was so surreal” says Tesson.

She recently released a trailer video of her work on Cyr wheel to showcase her skills. She says, “I wanted something sober, simple and dynamic that puts forward my singularity in the wheel and my explosive side.” The video was filmed and edited by Kurtis Garcia (La Convive), who is also an ESAC student.

Tesson says the thing she will miss most about ESAC is the relationships she has built there. In particular, she will miss her coach Sven Demey. She says “His outlook on life has also been a great help to me in my time in ESAC, a motto that he would always say to us “la vie est bien faite” about sums this up!”

Tesson will be graduating soon and invites you to view her and her classmates’ graduation acts in EXIT18 at Halles de Schaerbeek (Brussels) from June 19 – 23 2019.
