Showbiz royalty, literal and figurative, are the latest nominees for induction into the 2021 Circus Ring of Fame, announced by its eponymous foundation on Friday.
If voted in, Sarasota native son Nik Wallenda, who added “volcano walker” to his list of record-breaking high-wire exploits earlier this year, would join the original “Wallenda Troupe” — inducted in 1988 and led by great grandfather Karl Wallenda.
The international cast is crowded this year, with no less 14 individuals, acts or categories up for consideration, representing talent from as far afield as France, Germany and China.
