PRO Exclusive 360 Degrees: Circus Through a Holistic Lens with Stacy Clark–Creating Magic

With our video interview series called 360 Degrees: Circus Through a Holistic Lens with Stacy Clark, we share professional development tools around the concepts of coaching, casting and career with our PRO Subscribers. Stacy Clark is the host of this exciting new video interview series which will provide a deep dive into the world of elite athletes and performers while tying in the practical tools she provides with her holistic approach to coaching. Stacy has years of experience in the industry working with artists and industry leaders from around the world and her work has been instrumental in shaping the contemporary circus landscape.

In episode 9, acrobatic designer, coach and choreographer Chloé Farah and I touch on all three of the 360 Degrees “Cs”: casting, coaching and career. We also dig in to how body mechanics and strong technique serve the creation of unique and authentic work, the concept of human colours as a relational guide, and our shared ambition to elevate circus as an art form. With several prestigious Circus Festival awards to her credit, Chloé is known for delivering emotive high-level acrobatic acts with a creative vision.

Chloe Farah is circus coach and choreographer specializing in aerial techniques. She is a graduate of the National Circus School of Montréal Professional Trainer in circus arts (NRC.09) with a specialization in aerial straps, under the instruction of famed circus coach, Victor Fomine. Chloé also holds a State Diploma in Circus Art from the National Circus School of Rosny-sous-Bois, the National Circus Arts Center and the Academie Fratellini.

Passionate about the human body and its biomechanics, Chloe has spent the last 15 years bridging the worlds of science and art, be it on stage in the middle of multiple creations, or alongside athletes and developing artists. 

Her studies in osteopathy provide her with a unique perspective and approach that ensures a healthy and exemplary training style that respects the physical limits of her athletes and artists as she builds training programs and acts adapted to their specific needs.

A former gymnast and professional circus performer, Stacy worked in marketing and communications before leaving it all behind to perform and teach circus around the world on stage, at festivals and on screen. Today Stacy is CEO of CircusTalk.com, the international career marketplace for circus and performing arts. She is also a freelance consultant specializing in casting, coaching, and creation. Until 2020, Stacy was the Director of Casting at Cirque du Soleil, leading a team of international talent scouts and advisors. Stacy teaches career and act development to the next generation of circus artists and is a yoga instructor and career coach.
