PRO Exclusive: Think Like an Acrobat–Let’s Restore Ourselves: Mastering High Performance Physiotherapy with Athletic Trainer Steve McCauley

Shenea Stiletto is a two-time World Acrobatic Champion, USA Gymnastics Hall of Fame Member, World-Class Handbalancer, and seasoned professional in the circus industry. Continuing the series into its second season, Shenea will share her expertise as a career circus performer as well as select insights and secrets from her guests about the business. Think Like an Acrobat will cover an array of useful topics from understanding the role of a good agent to how to navigate a contract and maintain long-distance relationships while living the globetrotter life.

Steve McCauley has over thirty years of experience with High-Performance settings, including his time as Head Athletic Trainer for the Las Vegas Sting, and he has been instrumental in providing care and athletic training programs for several Las Vegas shows such as Cirque du Soleil’s “Mystère,”” “Lord of the Dance,” MGM’s “EFX,” “Jabbawockeez,” and  “Le Reve” at the Wynn. Steve is also currently the resident Physio at the popular Las Vegas Circus Center.

In this episode, Steve and Shenea discuss the importance of having physiotherapy staff and resources accessible to artists, as well as methods to obtain these resources for artists and organizations alike.

Shenea Stiletto

Shenea Stiletto (Shenea Booth) is a two-time World Champion Gold Medalist in Acrobatic gymnastics, a USA Gymnastics Hall of Fame Member, and World Acrobatic Society Inductee. Her career includes a decade of collaborations with Cirque Du Soleil including the coveted hand balancing role as "The Promise" in Varekai, becoming the first-ever African American female soloist to play a lead character in a Cirque Du Soleil production. Shenea was also a finalist on America’s Got Talent and has continued to be a featured artist with prominent circus entertainment companies worldwide.
