Vote for the Best Circus Logo for the 250th Anniversary of Traditional Circus

Update: A winner has been chosen fro the log contest! The winning image is a golden 250th with a silhouette of a horse head. Congratulations to the winner and thanks to all who participated in voting!

Christian Nolens, chairman of the Belgian Circus Association and member of the European Circus Association,  had an idea for a circus logo to commemorate 250 years of circus, so he proposed a plan to his events and communication agency, On Stage Events. That is how the  international logo design contest for the 250th anniversary of traditional circus was launched. He says that over the coming months several circuses, organizations and festivals will announce the initiatives they will take to celebrate the 250th anniversary of traditional circus. Nolen explains how the logo will be used “It will be made available to the industry, artists, organizations and the media, as a registered design in different language versions. Commercial use by- and for non circus related brands, will be charged.”

Nolens explained the process of selecting the runners up for the logo design contest.“We boosted the contest on the 99Designs website, known by designers worldwide. This explains why we got submissions from Asia, Europe, the USA and South America.”

Of all of the applicants, only 88 logos met the standards and guidelines of the contest. 42 logos were selected in a first round of eliminations. In this final round, there are 6 logos to choose from. The winning designer will be awarded with media recognition as their logo will be published on circus related events and activities. The winner will also receive a $900 prize.

All are welcome to vote and the winner will be announced next week, Friday, September 22nd.  So until then, weigh in with your vote and long live the Circus!
