CircusTalk

Professional Online Resource and Employment Tool for the International Circus Community

WE DREAM OF A WORLD

  • ... where circus is presented at a wide spectrum of international arts institutions and incorporated in many multidisciplinary presentations.
  • ... where talented, innovative artists get exposure and access opportunities regardless of where they are located in the world.
  • ... where circus-related information is accessible and centralized.
  • ... where the world sees circus as a respected performing art form.
  • ... where our willingness to share, connect and unite our community creates opportunities for all of us.

WE FOSTER COMMUNICATION

Circus performers spend too much time sending out information that never gets seen and hunting down job leads that don’t always come through. Employers, on the other hand, have to scour the globe to find exciting, interesting acts, but they also need to know that their performers will be professional and reliable. We give performers and presenters a way to communicate easily, securely, and efficiently as we build the world’s first centralized circus resource center.

WE UNITE AND CONNECT

Many circus professionals live itinerant lives, moving from tour to tour, from country to country. We can help you keep track of circus news, events, jobs, and activities worldwide and stay in touch with circus friends and industry leaders in far-flung locales.

WE PROMOTE THE CIRCUS INDUSTRY

We do this by giving artists a professional way to promote their acts and shows; by creating a community-built unified artist database for presenters; by distributing unbiased news and information; and by offering listings for circus museums, schools, suppliers, and other organizations. We provide a common platform to elevate the circus industry as a whole.

WE ARE INCLUSIVE

We cherish diversity. We welcome all varieties and shades of circus, from traditional to contemporary companies. We celebrate the enterprise of commercial appeal as much as we embrace envelope-pushing innovation in the circus arts. CircusTalk intends to connect the professional and emerging circus worlds. We equally invite circus companies, performers of all levels, youth circus, circus institutions and organizations, academics and social circuses, vendors, programmers, venues, and circus related businesses to find a home on Circus Talk. The  topic of inclusion that is of utmost importance to CircusTalk is that of race, gender and disability. We aim to help level the playing field for BIPOC, disabled people, folks on the LGBTQIA and neurodivergent spectrums in the circus sector. We chose to celebrate our industry’s diversity by embracing the entire circus family under one virtual tent.

WE ARE INTERNATIONAL

Circus is a truly global industry with a strong presence on all six populated continents. We strive to bring this far-flung community closer by providing a virtual town square and marketplace. If you don’t see your area represented, drop us a line, and let us know what’s happening where you are so we can spread the word.

WE ARE INDEPENDENT

Our platform is free from commercial interest and bias and it is not influenced by companies corporations and their interests. Our platform is lead by the people, the users and it is established on information that our community shares. Only an independent platform can create a safe space that protects integrity and leads to the democratization of this industry, and create equal access to information. We are proud to be the only independent, community-driven professional platform of this industry and give voice to this industry.

WE LOVE CIRCUS

We’re passionate about advancing and giving circus a voice.

We are a collective of performing arts, technology and social media professionals who believe that everyone has the right to information. We are working towards creating a transparent system of sharing information, resources, tools and opportunities for all in the circus community.
