[more]Despite the large number of restrictions over the last two months, including closed schools, universities, cultural institutions, many shops and services on top of remote home office work for many Poles, the SARS-COV-2 epidemic is unfortunately not letting up. Bearing in mind the safety of us all, Workshops of Culture have already decided to move Night of Culture to autumn and East of Culture – Different Sounds to 3-6 September. The time has come to decide that July events should also take on a new form and get a new date, adjusted to the reality around us.
The everyday programme of Workshops of Culture – workshops for children and adults, meetings with literature, tradition or the best music can be transferred online and we can #stayathome. Unfortunately, under similar conditions, it is extremely difficult to organise Carnaval Sztukmistrzów, whose greatest value is celebrating together, enjoying being together, communicating without words and without boundaries between artists and the audience. Meanwhile, nowadays many boundaries have been set for us, humanity.
Back in March, full of positive energy and completely new ideas forCarnaval Sztukmistrzów 2020, we were still working out details withartists who were going to come to Lublin from many corners of theworld. Unfortunately, the global health crisis has changed ourreality and the July date for our outdoor event (23-26 July 2020) nowseems unattainable for Lublin’s residents, all Poles, as well asforeigners.
This is why, but most of all out of concern for your health and safety,Carnaval in the format everyone knows and loves will return in ayear. However, we do not want to leave you with nothing. Especiallynow, we all need celebration, we all need carnival! This year’sedition of Carnaval will take place in autumn, in a format that thesanitary regulations will allow us. We will focus on Polish artistsfrom the circus and theatre communities and together we will try toprepare something for you for this difficult time. More details soon.
As a result, we are forced to cancel the open call for buskers this year, but we look forward to receiving your application in an open call next year! [less]
