The workshop covers the basic anatomy and biomechanics of the shoulder and then leads participants through sequenced warm-up exercises to target specific muscle groups and movements. Attendees will walk away with a greater appreciation for that gorgeous joint we call the shoulder, as well as an arsenal of movements to help avoid injury and increase strength and mobility. No prerequisites. FULL BODY HIIT CONDITIONING 2/27 from 3:30-4:45 pm EST with Daniel Patrick A hard-working HIIT style conditioning class focused on building strength through your legs, core, and upper body. During this workout, you will power through dynamic variations of squats, crunches, and push-ups at a fast pace. High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) is a great way to get sweaty, burn calories, and get strong! No prerequisites. FLAIRIAL DYNAMITE ON AERIAL FABRIC 3/13 from 3:30-4:45 pm EST with Elise Southwick Do you want to put your own personal signature on a move that everyone else can do? Are you at the point with your aerial fabric training where you watch yourself and it doesn’t look as exciting as it feels? By learning new sequences and working with positions you are already familiar with, we will incorporate new silk manipulation, body positioning, and spinning to give you the tools to develop unique and dynamic work. Let’s make a painting in the sky! Prerequisites: Hip key and straddle up in the air and some spinning. Designed for real-time participation with a fabric rigged on a swivel, but it's appropriate and safe for folks to use the recording to practice another time. BALANCE ANYTHING ANYWHERE with Marysia Kochac 3/20 from 3:30-4:45 pm EST Learn the basics of balancing objects on your body with this workshop designed to kickstart your new favorite obsession. We’ll cover the mechanics of simple object balancing, how to level up from hands to face, and simple object transfers to add dynamism. Whatever your level, you’ll leave with the tools and mindset to look at any object and think “I could put that on my nose.” All levels—beginners welcome! ALL ABOUT THE BEATS with Xochitl Sosa 3/27 from 3:30-4:45 pm EST All About the Beats breaks down how beats and momentum work and how to teach them. You will leave this workshop with a greater understanding on timing in beats, where the power is originating, and how to use momentum towards the next trick. No prerequisites. This is a lecture-based class with a Q&A at the end. HAND BALANCING AT HOME 4/10 from 3:30-4:45 pm EST with Elsa Hall Use objects in your house to find alignment in your handstand and build the strength and foundation for a better handstand line. We will focus on technique and cover what is considered proper alignment (and why that is the goal). No prerequisites - beginners welcome!
