Movement for Circus - Weekly class expired canceled |
A weekly class aimed at expanding the performer's movement vocabulary, and at seeking integration with their chosen circus discipline. Week by week, we will encounter different themes and techniques, and explore in practice how these can enrich the performer's existing circus skills. Using elements from physical theatre, somatic practices, Laban, Chekov, and theatre training, the class will provide the performer with strategies and methods that can be used to devise and research circus acts when in creation. No previous dance or theatre experience is needed, only a will to play!
The class will take place every Thursday from 16:00 to 17:30 (UK time). Drop-in is possible but a continuous attendance is recommended. Please note that each week you will need to purchase a new pass. About the teacher: After 20 years spent performing as an aerialist, dancer, and street performer, Viola started training circus performers in movement, and actors in acrobatic, as well as helping performers with act creation. This class offer comes from her working practice as Movement Director in theatre, and as Creation Coach/Act Director in circus. She trained as Movement director & Teacher at Royal Central School of Speech & Drama (London) and she is currently studying Directing Circus & Physical Theatre at Circomedia (Bristol).
