Next year’s Adelaide Fringe promises an explosion of creativity with over 1,300 shows spanning across 500 venues, transforming Adelaide into a cultural utopia throughout February and March.

This multi-genre festival seamlessly weaves together comedy, theatre, circus, cabaret, visual art, music, and interactive performances, creating a vibrant tapestry of artistic expression.

Director and CEO Heather Croall expressed immense excitement for the upcoming 2024 season, aiming to replicate the previous year’s extraordinary success of selling a million tickets. With strong support from participants, the State Government, and Festival Partners, the event anticipates another outstanding year.

In collaboration with the Australian Performing Arts Market (APAM), Adelaide Fringe introduces “Leaps and Bounds,” an industry-focused Australian Circus and Physical Theatre event. Featuring pitch sessions and networking opportunities, this event aims to bolster connections between Fringe artists and global industry professionals through the Honey Pot Program.

Running from February 16 to March 17, the festival spotlights local and international talent. With 23% of acts international and over half the program featuring South Australian artists, it promises a diverse and enriching experience.

The 2024 program unveils three distinguished ambassadors: R’n’B sensation Prinnie Stevens, basketballer-cum-cabaret performer Isaac Humphries, and beloved SBS personality Adam Liaw, hosting a live rendition of The Cook Up at Woodville Town Hall.

Minister for Tourism Zoe Bettison celebrated the economic impact of the 2023 festival, which reached $906 million in visitor spending. She anticipates an equally impactful 2024 event, with its vast array of over 1,300 shows captivating audiences and bolstering South Australia’s thriving tourism sector. Bettison invites everyone to immerse themselves in the extraordinary experiences that the Adelaide Fringe has to offer.

2024 Adelaide Fringe Program Highlights:

The Dome – an immersive, planetarium-style cinematic experience in Freemasons Hall, featuring The Dark Side of the Moon – an immersive experience with the full Pink Floyd album.

Natural Wonders – an outdoor art gallery under the stars hosted in Adelaide Botanic Garden from the second weekend of Fringe, featuring strong installations and projections by local South Australian artists Alex Frayne and Katrine Penning, Liam Somerville and Michael Ellingford (who wowed us with Noise Nature in Botanic Gardens in a previous year), light and installation duo “Harsh Realities,” and Ngarrindjeri woman Nicole Gollan’s piece called The Spirit Lives On.

SAGE 2024 — Adelaide’s most exciting event for video game developers, players, and fans – and everyone in between! Presented by the South Australian Film Corporation.

The Inflatable Church on Light Square where you can get married or renew your vows with some Fringe fun.

YOAH Circus — An Australian premiere from Japan’s most talked-about contemporary circus company.

LIMBO — The Return. The debut of the latest work from the creative producers of the critically acclaimed BLANC de BLANC, THE PARTY, and, of course, LIMBO.

Beatles Dub Club — the Australian premiere of the Glastonbury smash-hit, opening weekend only.

Robo Bingo— Presented by Fox Dog Studios arriving fresh from their sellout season in Edinburgh Fringe.

In Pursuit of Repetitive Beats — an interactive VR spectacular that takes you back and puts you in the shoes of rave culture pioneers.
