In the spirited ambiance of an Olympic year, the 5th edition of Entre2 BIAC 2024 unfolded from January 25 to February 25, captivating audiences with stellar performances by top-tier artists. A staggering 25,000 spectators congregated to partake in a diverse array of shows spread across the Aix-Marseille-Provence Metropolis throughout the month.

Archaos, an iconic contemporary circus company nestled in Marseille, has played a pivotal role in creating BIAC.  Besides BIAC and Entre2 BIAC festivals, Archaos serves as a creative hub for artists and enthusiasts alike, promoting accessibility and inclusivity in circus arts. The festival’s rich tapestry of performances also owes much to the invaluable support of cultural partners within the Metropolis. Venues such as Daki Ling in Marseille, Théâtre du Bois de l’Aune in Aix-en-Provence, Comoedia Theater in Aubagne, Obino room and Fontblanche domain in Vitrolles, Citron Jaune in Port-Saint-Louis-du-Rhône, Théâtre Le Sémaphore in Port-de-Bouc, and Forum in Berre l’Étang played pivotal roles in curating an exceptional program. Additionally, Scène subsidized Art in Scènes et Ciné territory contributed to the festival’s success with its 25th Les Élancées festival hosted at various venues including Théâtre de la Colonne in Miramas and Théâtre de l’Olivier in Istres.

Entre2 BIAC 2024 takes immense pride in its commitment to regional artists and companies. Notable contributions came from esteemed groups like Les Hommes de Mains from Nice and AR company from Aix-en-Provence. The Toulouse-based Hors Surface company captivated audiences with poetic performances that pushed artistic boundaries, exemplified by their show ‘Envol,’ which enthralled thousands at the festival’s culmination.

Reflecting the spirit of the Cultural Olympiad curated by the City of Marseille, Entre2 BIAC 2024 featured the ‘Always Higher’ project by Archaos, a unique fusion of contemporary circus and sports performances. Collaborating with football-freestyle collective Uni-sphère and Hors Surface, the initiative introduced young enthusiasts to juggling with soccer balls and trampoline acrobatics. The workshops culminated in two mesmerizing showcases on the iconic Canebière during the Au Bout la Mer: Cirque! event.
