Three-time Drama Desk nominee Parallel Exit returns to New York City with SUNSET CIRCUS– an intimate and immersive circus for audiences of all ages. A family you’ve just met, but you’ve known forever. Featuring circus artists from Cirque du Soleil, Big Apple Circus, and beyond, SUNSET CIRCUSfeatures a sensational cast that will bring you laughter, awe, and perhaps a tear. This unique theatrical circus experience from Parallel Exit presents innovative circus acts interwoven by characters who would be at home in your own backyard.

SUNSET CIRCUS began as an outdoor performance, created and developed during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. With the artists initially collaborating on video, the ensemble was able to come together through a program made possible, in part, by support from Bindlestiff Family Variety Arts, Inc. and the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs. This led to a video presentation for Lincoln Center’s #ConcertsForKids program in 2021, and in-person performances as part of Lincoln Center Presents in the fall of 2022.

Parallel Exit is thrilled to be the inaugural production at 3AM Theatre, a brand-new intimate venue dedicated to artists who are innovating, creating community, and sharing exciting new ideas with peers and audiences.
